Privacy policy
This notice explains what happens to data when you visit this website. The short version: it sets no cookies, runs no analytics and tracks nobody. The only processing is what any web host unavoidably does to deliver a page.
1. Scope
This policy covers this website only (the goloom marketing site and documentation). It does not cover the goloom software itself: when you download goloom and run it on your own infrastructure, you are the operator of that instance and the data controller for the accounts and content it processes. This site does not receive any data from self-hosted instances.
2. Controller
The controller responsible for this website within the meaning of the GDPR (Art. 4 No. 7) is:
[TODO: Name / legal entity]
[TODO: Postal address]
Email: [TODO: contact email]
3. Hosting (GitHub Pages)
This site is served as static files by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. (88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA), part of Microsoft. To deliver the pages, GitHub necessarily processes technical connection data — most notably your IP address — and may record it in server log files.
We do not operate our own web server for this site and have no access to these logs. GitHub processes this data as our processor and under its own responsibility; see theGitHub Privacy Statement.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in presenting this project on a reliable, secure and low-maintenance platform.
International transfer: GitHub is based in the USA, so data may be transferred there. GitHub relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and its certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework as safeguards under Art. 44 ff. GDPR.
4. Server log data
When a page is requested, a web host typically processes: the requesting IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the HTTP status, the referring page and the browser user-agent string. This is used to deliver content and to keep the service secure and functional. Retention and deletion of these logs are governed by GitHub, not by us.
5. No cookies, no tracking, no analytics
This site stores nothing on your device: no cookies, no local storage for tracking, no analytics or measurement tools, no advertising, no social-media pixels, and no third-party embeds that would profile you. Because nothing non-essential is stored or tracked, there is no consent banner — there is nothing to consent to.
6. Fonts and assets
Fonts and images are served from this same site, not from a third-party font or asset CDN. Loading a page therefore does not send your data to Google Fonts or any comparable service.
7. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, the address and the content of your message are processed solely to handle your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering enquiries), or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a (pre-)contractual matter. The data is deleted once it is no longer needed and no retention obligations apply.
8. External links
This site links to external services such as the project onGitHub and the social networks goloom supports. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies; we have no influence over their processing.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the data concerning you (Art. 15);
- rectification (Art. 16) and erasure (Art. 17);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- data portability (Art. 20);
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21).
To exercise these rights, contact the controller named above. Note that for the hosting log data described in section 3, requests are best directed to GitHub as the party that holds it.
10. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement, if you consider that the processing of your data infringes the GDPR.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or the legal situation. The date at the top indicates the current version.
This page is provided in good faith for transparency and is not legal advice. The controller is responsible for its accuracy before publication.
